It focuses on history of beer's brewery
Stella Artois has launched a new TV ad and a series of related internet challenges for consumers.
The commercial, entitled ‘1366’, illustrates the history of Leuven brewing since its Den Hoorn brewery started brewing in that year and the fact that Stella Artois is brewed to an original Belgium recipe. It features a voiceover by actor Patrick Stewart.
The campaign also features an interactive element by inviting viewers to take the “Challenge of 1366” at the web site www.stellaartois.com.

In their latest ad Stella / Inbev say their beer has been made from the same ingredients since 1366 - hops, water, maize and malted barley. But didn't maize come to Europe from the american colonies a long time after Columbus 1498? The good people of Leuven would not have put maize in their beer. Beer historically is made with only these 4 ingredients - water, malted barley, yeast and hops. I bet they don't put maize in the Belgian version. InBev/Stella seems to be devaluing their brand - its sold cheap in supermarkets and now they've added maize. What happened to the quality?
