Anti-tax petition to be delivered to 10 Downing St

A group of MPs and industry figures will hand in a giant postcard petition to 10 Downing Street this morning as part of a final push for the industry's Axe the Beer Tax campaign.

Before this, Emmerdale actress Adele Silva will be pulling pints for MPs at their local, the Red Lion, in Wesminster, for a photo opportunity.

The event is entitled '48 Hours to Save the Great British Pub' as the trade fears more closures and job losses if Alistair Darling goes ahead with his plan for the duty escalator in Wednesday's Budget.
