Talbot Inn earns AA Rosette
A pub which opened less than six months ago has won a prestigious award for the quality of its food.
The Talbot Inn at High Street in Ripley, Surrey, which opened last October by pubco Merchant Inns, has won the coveted AA Rosette for culinary excellence.
The kitchen headed by Ian Richards has become renowned for its food which is made from seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.
The menu includes dishes such as pan roasted Cornish scallops, roasted rump of local lamb with ratatouille tart and confit garlic mash and olive sauce. Pub classics such as Conisbee’s pork and leek sausages and Savoy cabbage and bacon with mashed potatoes are also firm favourites.
General manager Paul Dixon said: “We are absolutely delighted with this award, and we are proud to have achieved it in such a short time. This first recognition means a lot to us as a team, and it is spurring us on to continue to serve our customers with the very best of British every day.”
