A licensee is giving drinkers a first class service by letting her husband open a post office in her pub.
Kim Filby has joined forces with postmaster hubby David who has opened up in the corner of the Broadway Inn in Totland, Isle of Wight.
The service allows punters to post letters and buy stamps before relaxing with a pint.
David, 55, was in charge of the village’s post office but the service has now been moved to the pub.
Kim said said: “It is great that we have managed to combine our two businesses into one, but we both know our roles - David is very much the boss in the Post Office and he knows I’m the boss lady in the pub.”
“We are a great focal point for the community, somewhere for people to meet up and have a chat.”
A number of rural pubs have diversified their services, including taking on post offices over the past few years – inspired by the scheme Pub is the Hub.
