'Coffee-style' shots on trial with managed pub chain
Britvic is trialling flavoured shots of Pepsi with a managed pub chain across the UK in a bid to reinvigorate soft drinks in the on-trade.
The trial began in 32 pubs earlier this month, and will continue until February before a decision is made on whether to roll out the product further.
The flavours, which are dispensed into Pepsi at the bar in a similar way to coffee flavours in coffee shops, are apple, cherry, tropical, vanilla and winter spice.
A spokeswoman for Britvic, which bottles and distributes Pepsi in the UK, said: “This is a very limited trial with one key customer. We’ll be making a full assessment of it once the trial is over – the earliest it could be rolled out in full will be towards the end of next year.”
